State-Of-The-Art Research Lab For Global Tech Firm

JRM Construction Management completed the 12,000 SF interior build-out of the Microsoft Research Lab located at 641 Avenue of the Americas. Microsoft’s goal for their space was to create a lab where their teams would collaborate with researchers to help answer big data questions through advanced development of computational & behavioral social science, computational economics & prediction markets, machine learning, and information retrieval. JRM worked closely with Microsoft to ensure the research lab fully met their needs and delivered this fast-track project in under 10 weeks.

Work began with a complete strip-down of the existing space, leaving a bare-bones canvas for the new facility. JRM then built numerous collaboration spaces, including seminar rooms, hub lounges, conference rooms, team rooms, and an Xbox gaming lounge. Intricate features included the Bendheim Glass entryway to the Xbox gaming lounge, a high-end reception area with lacquer panels, an Oelberg feature wall, and custom graphic wall panels. JRM also constructed open workstations & offices throughout and built a new secure telecommunication and IT room that housed all-new air condition units.
