Friedland Properties
Location 706 Madison Ave, New York, NY
Project Size 46,400 SF
JRM Construction Management acted as the construction manager for the 46,400 SF Friedland Properties project. Due to the building’s landmark status, JRM worked hand-in-hand with the City of New York’s Landmarks Preservation Commission as well as working closely with both Page Ayres Cowley Architects and project engineer, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, to meet the client’s vision and needs.
Construction began with the demolition of a two-story brick building. Three separate buildings with limestone and marble trim were then erected on the property complete with a glass-railed roof terrace and cast stone balustrades. Double-height sidewalk vaults were also constructed. JRM replaced all of the steel framing in the pre-existing building and removed the original columns to open up the floor plate.
