First U.S. Location For Swedish Eyewear Retailer In NYC’s SoHo District

JRM Construction Management completed the first American store for Swedish eyewear brand CHIMI on Grand Street in NYC. The build-out of this stylish 1,800 SF space involved collaboration with Sargenti architects and Hallberg and Schnakel Engineers, uniting top expertise for a distinctive retail environment.

The store layout includes custom curved tapered walls that sharpen to a knife edge and are coated with artisan plaster for a sleek finish. JRM also furnished and installed custom aluminum fixtures and sophisticated millwork doors throughout the space. Notably, the ceiling features a specialty double-layer fabric system from New York Ceiling, providing a modern look and feel.

The store also features epoxy resin cast shelves, a new reception desk, and bathroom walls clad in tiles imported from Hoganas, Sweden. New lighting from Lucifer, FLOS, WAC, and Columbia Lighting, managed by CASAMBI controls, ensures the space is beautifully illuminated and energy-efficient.
