Understanding ESOPs What is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan?

What is an ESOP? An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a qualified plan designed to provide employees with an ownership interest in the company without any upfront cost. As JRM thrives, so do the benefits for our employee-owners, creating a perfect alignment between personal and company success.

Who gets to participate? All JRM employees can become ESOP participants once they meet basic service requirements. You’re eligible to enter the plan after completing one year of service (at least 1,000 hours worked in your plan year) and are employed on the last day of that year​. In other words, if you work roughly full-time for a year, you’ll be in the ESOP! Once you’re in, you automatically receive ESOP contributions – you don’t need to contribute anything yourself.
