Extensive Structural Upgrades & All New Learning Facilities For Private School

JRM Construction Management delivered Mary McDowell Friends School’s ambitious two-phase educational project that included a 9-week interior build-out followed by new construction. The original schoolhouse was rehabilitated by opening masonry walls to install new electrical and plumbing infrastructure, tack and dry erase boards were introduced in classrooms, new Kewanee labs were implemented as well as a basement-level cafeteria with banquet and wood ceilings.

In phase two, an adjoining building was constructed to marry the two existing schoolhouses on the premises. Major excavation was done to create a new basement level while the entire side of the lower building was underpinned. The new construction was affixed with underground plumbing infrastructure, an elevator, and adjoining corridor openings were cut out to finalize the project unifying the three educational buildings.
