URBO - World Restaurant
JRM Construction worked with URBO to create their distinct restaurant, retail and events concept space in the heart of Times Square, on 8th Avenue and 42nd Street. We provided extensive demolition for the two-story, 29,000 SF space, including removing the concrete deck and slab for new elevator openings, HVAC duct penetrations, and new stair openings. We cut and removed steel beams, and installed new structural steel for both the elevator pits and the elevator openings. The project also included two hung catwalks, a full-service kitchen, and high-end finishes for the flooring, millwork, lighting, and stairs. JRM was in charge of installing all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the infrastructure for the elevators and the
dumbwaiter. The main floor of the space features a 150-seat dining area with 3 glass-enclosed kitchens, and the Blue Bottle Coffee shop off the side of the restaurant. A spiral staircase and a circular elevator lead to a more formal dining area on the second floor, complete with latticework, greenery and an impressive bar.
